Not much to show im afraid due to having to increase my hours at work,but here are a few ideas for little braves mother.Also once i get around to fixing my scanner,Ill post up some of my sketchbook work.

A little piece to finish the day

Heres a rough sketch from one of my initial sketch book drafts,but revised to fit the feel Im going for.

The idea behind this piece,is that brave is going to take part in a tribal ceremonial event but he is not happy with his costume, and would rather be training to be a brave.

Update

After exploring a few ideas,Ive decided that I want to focus on 4 main areas of native indian lifestyles: fishing,hunting,spiritual and ceremonial.

These are a few development sketches focusing on spiritual events using the peace pipe,unfortunately little brave is far to young to inhale the tobacco and becomes sick,through hallucinations.

At this point I feel the character is not quite what I envisioned him to be ,but Im fairly happy with my progress,but  I gotta keep pushing the idea ,no getting lazy !!!!!!

1st Entry

So this is my 1st entry,so to kick start this new blog ,Id like to share with ya all a little project Im currently working on before i return to uni.


Basically Im working on character designs for a children's book called little brave, about a young native indian boy( Little brave) who is trying to find his place in the world. The theme of the book is based around the idea that there is no such thing as failure,only hurdles along the journey.
